Welcome back, traders! Let’s dive into this week’s Commitment of Traders (COT) data to reveal the latest insights into market positioning and potential trading opportunities.

CAD – Canadian Dollar

  • Speculators: Net short -74,094 (longs increased by 1,580; shorts increased by 4,066)
  • Commercials: Net long 72,766 (longs increased by 404; shorts decreased by 3,668)
  • % Long Ratio: 18.59%

Speculators remain bearish, but the setup offers substantial potential for more bullish positioning. CAD continues to present attractive strength opportunities.

CHF – Swiss Franc

  • Speculators: Net short -22,637 (longs increased by 1,471; shorts increased by 1,912)
  • Commercials: Net long 23,016 (longs increased by 1,502; shorts decreased by 737)
  • % Long Ratio: 23.40%

CHF has significant room for bullish momentum, given current under-owned positioning. Keep an eye out for additional CHF strength.

GBP – British Pound

  • Speculators: Net long 29,191 (longs decreased by 7,039; shorts decreased by 3,036)
  • Commercials: Net short -37,481 (longs increased by 4,437; shorts decreased by 1,624)
  • % Long Ratio: 58.45%

GBP remains neutral, offering no clear trade signals from the COT data this week. I won’t base trade decisions on GBP positioning alone.

JPY – Japanese Yen

  • Speculators: Net long 103,582 (longs decreased by 748; shorts significantly increased by 11,825)
  • Commercials: Net short -110,846 (longs decreased by 12,108; shorts decreased by 5,726)
  • % Long Ratio: 72.78%

JPY continues to look significantly overbought, and we might be witnessing the start of the bearish reversal anticipated previously. Proceed with caution on JPY longs.

EUR – Euro

  • Speculators: Net long 128,221 (longs increased by 971; shorts decreased by 6,654)
  • Commercials: Net short -184,215 (longs increased by 11,572; shorts increased by 18,364)
  • % Long Ratio: 68.01%

EUR remains balanced, offering no clear directional bias. I’m withholding EUR trade decisions based solely on this week’s data.

NZD – New Zealand Dollar

  • Speculators: Net long 3,635 (longs decreased by 2,361; shorts decreased by 1,075)
  • Commercials: Net short 4,003 (longs increased by 2,018; shorts decreased by 918)
  • % Long Ratio: 56.14%

NZD remains neutral without strong signals. This week’s data doesn’t present clear trade opportunities, so I’ll stand aside on NZD.

AUD – Australian Dollar

  • Speculators: Net short -74,919 (longs decreased by 2,039; shorts decreased by 1,434)
  • Commercials: Net long 72,528 (longs increased by 1,351; shorts decreased by 3,032)
  • % Long Ratio: 18.09%

AUD continues to offer a strong bullish setup with ample room for additional long positioning. The outlook for AUD remains positive.

Final Thoughts

This week’s COT analysis highlights bullish potential in CAD, CHF, and AUD, with caution recommended on JPY due to its crowded long positioning. GBP, EUR, and NZD remain neutral, offering no immediate actionable signals.
